Ms. Lexi Fata
Hello! My name is Lexi Fata and I am so excited to be a kindergarten teacher at Wines. I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2019, where I received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. After completing my student teaching here at Wines, I was so honored to join the community as an official member of the kindergarten team. Kindergarten is such an amazing grade and I am so thrilled to be a part of our students' special journey this year.
I am originally from Livonia, Michigan. I truly love Ann Arbor and consider it one of my homes away from home. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also love visiting the beach and being in the water, either swimming or snorkeling. I can’t wait to learn more about your students. I look forward to an awesome year together!

Mrs. Samantha Shanteau
Hi! My name is Samantha Shanteau and I am excited to return to Kindergarten. Prior to Kindergarten, I taught 3rd grade for three years. I'm looking forward to a wonderful school year!
I grew up in Ann Arbor and attended Dicken Elementary School, Slauson Middle School and Pioneer High School. I received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University. I have taught grades K-4 in AAPS in various positions. I love being in the classroom and working with students! Mr. Toohey
Hi, my name is Derek Toohey. I grew up right here in Ann Arbor, Michigan! I attended King Elementary, Clague Middle School, and am a very proud Huron River Rat! I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in reading and early childhood education from Eastern Michigan University. I have been teaching Kindergarten in the AAPS since 2010. I love to run, coach and play soccer, and spend time with family!
