I graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Elementary Education and completed my student teaching at Wines. After graduating, I continued to work at Wines as a building sub and then as a fourth grade teacher. I am excited to be teaching kindergarten.
I grew up in Novi, Michigan but have loved living in Ann Arbor since going to school here. I truly love working with students and want to support them in their journey as learners and growing individuals. In my free time, I love watching shows, eating good food, and hanging out with my family and friends.

Mr. Toohey
Hi, my name is Derek Toohey. I grew up right here in Ann Arbor, Michigan! I attended King Elementary, Clague Middle School, and am a very proud Huron River Rat! I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in reading and early childhood education from Eastern Michigan University. I have been teaching Kindergarten in the AAPS since 2010. I love to run, coach and play soccer, and spend time with family!
